Prof. Roberto Cerchione is Delegate of Engineering Management Committee, Director of Startup Grind University (SGu), and Professor of ‘Business Management’ at the University of Naples Parthenope, Bibliometric Methods in the PhD Doctoral Course in “Technology, Innovation and Management” at the University of Bergamo and the University of Naples Federico II, and ‘Advanced Logistics Systems and Sustainable Supply Chain Management’ at the Aerotech Academy, joint project between Leonardo and the University of Naples Federico II to offer advanced training courses on leading engineering issues.
He was an Erasmus Scholar at Universitat Rovira i Virgili, received with honours the MSc Degree in Engineering Management and awarded a PhD in Science and Technology Management from the University of Naples Federico II.
After his PhD, he was Adjunct Faculty at University of Maryland University College, Visiting Faculty at several universities and business schools, Member of Scientific Organisation Committee and Doctoral Workshop Coordinator of the 23rd AiIG Summer School in Engineering Management, Entrepreneurship Program Coordinator of startup competitions and technology transfer projects, and Scientific Coordinator of R&D projects with large companies, SMEs and startups.
He serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the “Journal of Entrepreneurship Education”, Managing Guest Editor of the “Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management”, Guest Editor of the journals “Current Issues in Tourism”, “Sustainability”, Section Board Member of "Forecasting," Editorial Board Member of “Academy of Strategic Management Journal”, “Sustainability”, “Challenges”, “World” and other peer-reviewed journals. He has co-authored more than 70 publications including articles published in leading peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, conference proceedings, research reports. He has won an “Emerald Literati Award” and a research award from the European Conference on Knowledge Management (ECKM) Committee for the year 2019, two research awards from the Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute for the year 2018, a Project Award from the Italian Association of Engineering Management (AiIG), and several innovation awards and outstanding reviewer recognitions from peer-reviewed journals. He has been nominated as Best Academician of the Year at the Academic and Research Excellence Awards 2020.
